What happened?
Some zones failed to be added because this Cloudflare account has no active zones.
When an account is new or inactive, Cloudflare may temporarily limit how many zones can be added at once — especially during bulk imports.
Why does this happen?
Cloudflare applies stricter limits to new or inactive accounts to prevent abuse.
This usually happens when:
- The account has no active zones
- Nameservers have not been pointed to Cloudflare yet
- Many zones are still in pending status
⚠️ Pending zones still count toward Cloudflare's internal limits.
Cloudflare may apply internal limits when adding many zones at once, even on older accounts. For better reliability, consider adding zones in smaller batches instead of one large import.
Is this an aioflare issue?
No. This limitation comes directly from Cloudflare. aioflare only forwards the error returned by Cloudflare's API.
What can I do to fix this?
You can resolve this issue by doing one of the following:
🔁 Wait for pending zones to be activated, then try again
📦 Add zones in smaller batches instead of one large bulk import
Recommended best practice
For large bulk imports, always use a Cloudflare account that already has at least one active zone.
This greatly reduces the chance of hitting Cloudflare's internal limits.

Q: I am using the Cloudflare Free plan. Is that the problem?
A: No. Cloudflare plans are applied per zone. This issue is related to account activity, not the plan type.
Q: Why did some zones succeed while others failed?
A: aioflare processes zones sequentially. Once Cloudflare returns a limit error, remaining zones may fail.
This is expected behavior.
Q: Will this happen again?
A: Usually no, once the account has active zones and pending zones are resolved.
Q: Can aioflare bypass this limit?
A: No. Cloudflare's limits cannot be bypassed by third-party tools.
Q: Is my data safe if some zones fail?
A: Yes. aioflare only saves data for zones that were successfully created.
