Adding a Cloudflare Account in aioflare
Learn how to securely connect your Cloudflare account and start managing your zones in aioflare.
This guide explains how to securely connect your Cloudflare account to aioflare and begin managing your zones.
What you can do after connecting
- • Manage your Cloudflare zones from one organized dashboard
- • Sync zones automatically and import DNS records when needed
- • Handle both lightweight and large-scale workloads more efficiently
Step-by-Step Connection Guide
Follow these steps to securely connect your Cloudflare account to aioflare.
Adding a Cloudflare Account in aioflare
- Start the Connection
Click the "Add Cloudflare Account" button in the dashboard to begin.
- Choose Authentication Method
You can connect your account using API Token (recommended) for granular permissions and enhanced security, or Global API Key for full account access. For best security practices, we strongly recommend using an API Token with limited scope.
- Enter Required Details
Fill in all required fields based on your selected authentication method. Once completed, click "Save" to add your account.
- Automatic Zone Sync
After successfully adding your account, aioflare will automatically begin syncing your zone names from Cloudflare. This process runs securely and requires no manual action.
- Smart DNS Records Sync (Adaptive Processing)
After zones are imported, you can choose to sync DNS records. aioflare uses an adaptive sync system to optimize performance and reliability: client-side processing is used for smaller accounts and runs in your browser, while server-side processing is automatically used for larger accounts and continues in the background even if your browser is closed.
- Sync Status Indicators
Depending on the processing mode, you may see an orange header indicator with a "C" icon when the sync is running in your browser, or background processing handled by the system with optional notifications when server-side sync is complete.
- Access Your Zones
Once synchronization is complete, navigate to the Zones tab to view all imported zones and DNS records.
Recommended: API Token
API Token is more secure than Global API Key because it allows you to define limited permissions and follow the principle of least privilege.
Automatic Zone Sync
Learn how aioflare automatically imports your zone names after account connection.
After successfully adding your account, aioflare automatically begins syncing your zone names from Cloudflare. This secure process requires no manual action and prepares your workspace for further DNS management.
How Zone Sync Works
- Save your Cloudflare account connection using your selected authentication method.
- aioflare automatically starts importing your zone names from Cloudflare.
- Wait for the import to finish so your zones are ready in the dashboard.
What Gets Synced
Zone Sync imports your Cloudflare zone names and prepares them for management inside aioflare.
Smart DNS Records Sync
Learn how aioflare adaptively syncs DNS records based on workload size.
After zones are imported, you can choose to sync DNS records. aioflare uses an adaptive sync system to optimize performance and reliability for both small and large accounts.
How DNS Record Sync Works
- Choose to sync DNS records after your zones have been imported.
- For smaller accounts, aioflare uses client-side processing that runs directly in your browser.
- For larger accounts, aioflare automatically switches to server-side processing in the background.
- After the sync completes, review the final state in your zones and DNS records.
Client-Side Processing (Small Accounts)
Used when the number of zones is relatively small. The sync runs directly in your browser, so your browser needs to remain open during the process.
Server-Side Processing (Large Accounts)
Automatically used when a large number of zones is detected. The sync runs in the background on aioflare servers and continues even if your browser is closed.
Adaptive Processing
This adaptive approach ensures efficient handling of both lightweight and large-scale workloads, helping you sync records with better reliability and less manual coordination.
Sync Status Indicators
Depending on the selected processing mode, aioflare may show different indicators while DNS record sync is running.
Client-Side Mode
An orange indicator appears in the header, along with a "C" icon showing that the process is running in your browser.
Server-Side Mode
The sync runs in the background with progress handled by the system, and optional notifications may appear when the process is complete.
